Check out MOVING’s Final Project Results for Mountain Areas on the Horizon Results Platform!

Oct 30, 2024

MOVING is formally ending on 31st October. However, the results of the project after four years of work come in a very timely moment, as the new EU Priorities 2024-2029 for mountain areas begin to take shape.

We have been working with partners—policymakers, experts, and practitioners—who have been instrumental throughout the project, to disseminate these outcomes. Following our highly successful final conference last June, where these results were co-produced, three key outcomes have been added to the Horizon Results Platform.

Policy Tools for Mountain areas

The MOVING package of Policy tools is the final result of the project. These tools are addressed at policy and decision makers at local, regional, national and European levels with a view of the post 2027 EU policy frameworks and national mountain policies.

They seek to:

  • Ensure that the MOVING project’s results are reflected in future key European, national and regional policies and strategies for mountain areas;
  • Raise capacity-building initiatives, programmes and projects to enhance mountain resilience and sustainability.

23 Mountain Areas Vulnerabilities and Opportunities through Value Chains

These tools are intended to simplify and guide the improvement, upgrading and decision-making of mountain value chains to face with existing threats (e.g. climate change, demography).

MOVING Conceptual Analytical Framework

An overarching framework setting out the key concepts to analyse, understand and contribute to sustainable and resilient value chains in the mountains. It will help scientific communities to analyse and understand mountain value chains’ dynamics and contribution to resilience and sustainability.

If you are interested in knowing more about one of these results, we can be contacted via their dedicated profile in the Horizon Results Platform.
